It is a little early for this but then again its almost August and that was when we started last year. I will volunteer to organize this year unless OPaul wishes to do so again. If OPaul wants to do it no problem I am good either way. I had a blast last year waiting on my box to arrive so I was hoping we would do it again. What do you guys think?

You must have been reading my mind! I was actually thinking about getting it kicked off.
But since I did it last year- I think a new organizer is in order! Thanks for doing this.
Count me in.

I would like to be in but I would like to finish up this current batch of knives I’m working on which probably won’t be till September so let me hold off on my official in.

As an ill equipped, rank amateur, I'd be willing to try....but only if y'all say ok. I will take no offense to a "no confidence" vote.

The only rules from past iterations were that you do your best work. Post a WIP during your process and be willing to accept constructive feedback from the recipient of your knife. That is the basic set up, we can talk specifics (like sheaths and sayas) later. If you can adhere to those then typically anyone can take part.

What is the deadline for entering? I will try to give you a yes or no by then. I’ve actually been working on a KITH knife design for the past month and a half so I hope I have time at some point to do it.

So would this mean starting from scratch with a knife specifically for the KITH or would one I'm currently working on, but not finished be OK? Since a WIP is asked for, I'm assuming it would be from scratch. I'm doing some computer contract work now so I don't know exactly how much time I will have.

I do not think it would matter. The WIP I did last year was very lacking to be sure.

if thems the rules , I'm pretty certain that I can adhere to them , so put me in coach! I might as well jump into the deep end! Does WIP include design drawings ?

The WIP is what you want it to be, if you like to do detailed WIP stuff then we all would love to see it. If you are like me and are not so much into fine details then that is fine also. The point of this is to learn something and produce your best work to trade for someone else's best work. Then you tell them what you think of their work while listening to what they think of yours. There is nothing like making a knife knowing it is going to another knife maker who knows...
It does not matter if someone else's best work is better than yours. I look forward to the challenge of trying to impress another maker, if that makes sense.
