    1939 Studebaker Leaf Spring Interest???

Nope... sort of a niche item. I think it's neat, but I don't have any emotional/sentimental attachment to Studebaker, and think it'd be better left to someone who does. Sent from my Champion Forge using Tapatalk

Another "I want to build a press" thread....

I thought it was a pretty fun project. I was still trying to get used to Fusion 360 and that helped a lot. Sent from my Champion Forge using Tapatalk

Another "I want to build a press" thread....

Check out Gliden07's thread on his press build. IIRC, his press frame is from similar angle iron stock. Sent from my Champion Forge using Tapatalk

    Carbide Straightening Hammer

It's common practice to braze carbide onto steel shanks for lathe tooling. This Old Tony has a good video about brazed carbide. One this to consider is that the steel is going to expand when heated and then shrink back in around the carbide. Sent from my Champion Forge using Tapatalk

    Clamps

KantTwist clamps are extremely common with machinists. You can get them in all sorts of different sizes and a lot of different companies make them (obviously some better than others). You can also get them with different jaw materials. Plus, it wouldn't be a big project to make replacement soft...

    Arctic Air Mass

It's in the mid teens here right now (just east of Richmond, VA). We had a pretty heavy rain come through here a few days ago. The night before it rained, it was in the 20s, then it was 50's out that day. The condensation on all my tools out by the forge was insane! I had dried the anvil off...

    tool or weapon

I have one like that out in the shop. I need to clean it up and put a new handle on it. Actually, I think I left it in the Evaporust a few months ago. Sent from my Champion Forge using Tapatalk

    Garbage steel

I use a lot of mystery metal. HOWEVER, I don't sell knives made of mystery metal. Since I can't really know how it'll perform. I use it for shop tooling, mostly. For that, a spark test, then a test heat treat are good enough for me. Maybe one day I'll pick up an XRF gun... Sent from my...

    Thinking about getting a mill/drill

Realistically, if you want a newer machine and don't have a fortune to spend, you're looking at a Chinese or Taiwanese machine (the latter being preferred). If I were you, I wouldn't let country of origin play into your decision too much. Honestly, you can get some really high quality stuff...
