Don't piss away your $ and step up to a Milwaukie porta band with a vertical stand. The blades are relatively inexpensive for the use you get from them.

Fwiw, I quench,cool in oil, reheat, quench 8-10 sec in oil then press btw 2 pcs of aluminum 1.25 x 6 x 12" till cool. This seems to eliminate most warping and maintains hardness.

Here's a pic of 2 damascus hunters just finished. Both are 1095/L6. The top is a 3 bar twist and the bottom is a modified 'w'. Thanks for looking .

I've been busy in the shop making a living, but have finally completed some blade work. These blades are about 3.75-4.25 on the cutting edge. Thanks for looking and comments/criticism always welcome.

I'm finally getting some blades completed. The cutting edges are 6" and ht at the heel is slightly over 50mm with a thickness at the heel of 1.9-2.21mm. Thanks for looking and comments always welcome.

I was finally able to finish some new blades. These two are are almost twins in size. Both are 10" on the cutting edge, 55mm tall, and 1.9 and 2.2mm at the heel.
