    The etch shows the transition area between "hard and softer" that occurs during an edge quench. Don't think a fully quenched blade will show anything, but for fun, give it a try. Remember that certain types of steel are deep hardening (5160 for example) and will not show a distinct "hamon...

    Steve, The size and shape of the guard look fine to me, but the final call is yours. It's really not a problem to do a sheath for that style, just a different direction from a "pouch". As Carey said, post in the sheath area or shoot me an email and I'll give you some examples. Rick

    Damascus Clasp Knife

    Really a great job! I like the use of bolsters on a friction folder and don't remember seeing that done before. Goblin/gargoyle? Who knows, just a good piece of work! Rick
