    Japanese Style Straight Razor

    Curious about what you call a "faux kamisori" grind? Is it flat ground on the Ura side rather than hollow? I'm making my first kamisori now, just kinda saw some pics and jumped in to make one. Still need to find someone to give me some specific pointers for making these, especially stock...

    Has anyone seen this wood before, if so? CAN YOU NAME IT???

    I've looked into the white teak, its a good wood, but not what us boat guys are used to sanding and varnishing. Here is a pic of my rigging knife with Curly Teak scales, it is stabilized wood... Here is some amboyna burl I just recently used on this razor, it also looks similar to your teak...

    New guy here...

    Well since you guys asked for pics, I will put a few up! Here is my first knife I built. Blank came from flea bay, like $10, 440C, pre hardened to 58Rc with mirror polish. Well the profile was all gnarley so I smoothed it out. Primary ginds were shoddy and wavy, so I block sanded for hours...
