This is after etching in ferric. I'm going to try the coffee etch and see what happens. We'll see tomorrow.

I have to sharpen it in the morning and then I'll post some better photos. This is a cell phone shot. I'm happy with it. What do y'all think?

Yes Cliff the coffee etch is etching a blade in coffee. I read a post on Blade Forums by Salem Straub and followed his instructions.
I etched the blade in ferric like always then polished the highlights by hand with 2500 grit paper. I mixed up a solution of about a half gallon of water with two small jars of instant coffee. Salem says to etch it over night but I only etched it about 4 hours and was happy with the results. It makes the dark parts darker while leaving the bright parts bright. And... it smells much better than ferric chloride!
