The fit is all good on the guard and handle... but... I haven’t really finished profiling the blade yet lol. I just wanted to see how long it would take me. The process of making the guards is time consuming, and when possible, I highly suggest buying one premade. However, this is the third one that I have done, and it’s getting much easier, faster, and the fit is where it needs to be. I have to be honest, here. This was not easy for me. However, handle shaping is way cooler, because I feel like I have more freedom. For some reason, I feel like I have tons of options for embellishments also (collars, spacers, and so on. John Doyle said that when a man holds a big Bowie in his hand, especially one he made himself, he will never be the same. Even though this is not done and the harpoon tip messes up the Bowie aspect, I definitely understand what he meant. I thought about waiting to post this until I was closer to finishing, but I’m excited. When I started this journey a year and a half ago (or so), I had no idea how much my life would change. “Be happy, make knives!” Cpm154cm with desert ironwood and nickel silver hand made guard.
