Time To Reboot This Thing!

I had mentioned when I joined you guys that I sell knives to be able to donate knives to charities.
In the end, the sold knives just took more time, effort and resources away from the donated knives. With my last mailing a few days ago, I am free of sold knives now and I need to start looking for a better way gain exposure for what this is evolving into.
Without the drag on my time with deadlines, I can be selective in what I make, and I am limiting myself to 12 knives over the next twelve months.
I HATE building a website (I've created a half dozen over the years), and thought I was done with that.
So, the old Frazier Knives comes down, and the new site will consume some of my winter with a shop reconfigure occupying the rest of it.

I will not be participating on the forums as much as I have in my short time here, but I will be lurking and "liking" you alls threads.
Thanks for letting me hang out here a little bit, be seeing ya'll soon, may God Bless!

Have you looked at square space for a website? I have been looking into building a website and they seem to be simple to build with. I hope you will still chime in occasionally. Take care!

As I understand it, things now are all centered around social media.

I'd rather make leather sheaths than engage in social media but if selling knives and exposure is the goal then Instagram, Facebook etc. have to be integrated the process.

The easiest way to get this done is to integrate it into my current knife site. I had already announced (early December) on that site that I would not be taking on more orders, and the knives would be listed on Instagram etc., and I'd announce on the knife site what and where it could be found. So, I guess incorporating one with the other should suffice, and as I don't need volume, my main focus will be which charities I will be trying to help (currently I have four annual drives I am committed to). I have found that you have to be careful because there is always someone that is willing to be dishonest and lie just to get something for free.

Had to laugh, I like the leather end of it, I find it relaxing, but totally agree about social media.
Thanks guys!

Dan, we sure hope you do hang around some - we enjoy your posts. The WIP on San Mai has me really thinking I want to try that myself - still digging up info and "getting around to it" phase.

I'll still be around KenH, best knife forum on the web to hang out in and USAKnifemaker's is tops! I'll just be busy for a couple months getting things squared away. Get that san mai made, I want to see it!

I used wix, I was familiar with it, Daniel may know more about them.

No I don't know more about it than anyone else. I had just been looking into it the other day and liked the way there's was set up. I did a little test webpage it was neat

I use Wix for my website and found it pretty easy to navigate and design with. The cost wasn't too bad either. I've had my website up for almost 2 years and haven't had a single problem. It even allows for me to have a blog page and with an upgrade I was able to have my own online store. It's definitely worth looking into if your in the market.

I hope everything works out for you Dan. I got my books today. I hope you got yours. Stop by once in awhile. Take care!!
