Hey guys, a little help

After final sanding, paste wax and light buff. Repeat as necessary to get the finish you want.

If you want a dark handle (buffing will darken it some) you can dye the leather bits before assembly or you can stain after with leather dye, coffee, etc. if you want a little light/dark action. Then paste wax and buff.

Others may have better ideas but that’s how I do it.
 
I believe the traditional way is to sand until you get the finish up want and the soak in linseed oil. It takes several weeks to dry. Another way is to finish with CA glue.
