Sweet blade. Thought I was looking at some wootz steel there for a second. You make some of the more dramatic Damascus steels I've seen. How long did it take to forge that?

Hi Marc! That particular damascus was days in the making. Each of those little squares are 4 bars each. I made a total of 8 bars, then cut them in half, so I had a total of 16 bars. I then put those together in what I call a "16 way" (imagine a square.... 4 bars across, and 4 bars up/down). That was forge welded into a 1 1/4" square, annealed, accordion cut, forged open/into barstock, then blades were forged from that barstock. When built in that manner, there is about a 60% loss of material through the process.
