Sorry, just seeing your message. I called and they said to wait up to 7 days from deposit, which was last weekend at some point. That's because they do the initial approval quickly, but they need some extra days to be 100% sure it's cleared. I'll call this morning and see what they say. It's boxed and ready to mail.
Finally, I have a clear answer from my bank. I had a supervisor call me because I got different answers about how long to wait before the check is fully cleared. I heard 7 days and 2 weeks. The supervisor was clear, it's 10 business days. I deposited the check Thursday, the 16th. Subtracting Martin Luther King Day, 10 business days makes it Thursday the 30th. I guess that is 2 weeks, isn't it?
I told you from the beginning it would likely take some time. Call your bank if you're uncertain whether to believe me. The way it was explained to me is that they give the money close to immediately, but the issuing bank has 10 days to change their minds if they think the check is fake.
I'm very sorry, but when I was just packing this up, and when I took it out of its sheath, I discovered this spot on the end. I assume I must have gotten a drop of water on it the last time I handled it. Since it's brass, I'm sure you can buff it out, but I wanted you to know before I send it out. I don't have any paste to do it myself.
I'd like to offer a $10 refund if that's acceptable to you. If you want to cancel completely, I understand as well and I'll give you a full refund. Just let me know. I've printed a shipping label, and I'm setting it up for the post office to pick it up tomorrow unless you say otherwise.
