    Glue Up Mistake

I've created a giant mess and need some help to clean it up. Last night I glued up a hidden tang knife. The blade was no big deal - 1095 w/ a Hamon. The handle, however, is a big deal - Ringed Gidgee that I bought from Austrailia $40 for the block and $40 to ship it here. In addition I have over...

    BLACK WIDOW 52100 / 15N20 San Mai

The SS is 410 and I am hoping for some migration even if I didn't heat it and grind it myself. However, after your comments, I don't think I have any choice because the center section is almost perfectly straight. Do you have any suggestions on how I pound it? Should I try and put in a pattern...

    BLACK WIDOW 52100 / 15N20 San Mai

I just bought a 12" billet of Stainless Steel "clad" 52100 from Aldo and I received it yesterday. As I look at the sides of it it looks like the layers are perfectly straight with one another. If it is like that all the way through I will get a straight line when I grind in the bevel. Your knife...

    grinding jig

Ken, I like the looks of the Moen jig but it's hard to tell how it works. Does it change angles within the jig itself or is it necessary to change the andle of the table on the grinder?

    Welding Damascus

Afternoon. I have a short piece if 1 1/2" wide Damasteel and a couple of short pieces of Alabama Damascus. The Damasteel is about 4" long and I could make a decent Fixed Blade Hidden Tang (or, I guess, a full tang) knife outta it if I could weld a piece of CPM-154 stainless to it. If I did that...

    Hamon, Hamon, Hamon . . . . . . .

Ty, that would seem to say that it is possible to sand or grind a Hamon out of a knife. I didn't know that was possible. Seems to me that you could just sand deep enough to eliminate the steel disturbed by the etch and start over. Wallace

    Hamon, Hamon, Hamon . . . . . . .

Hey guys, need a little help. I need some advice from some of you guys that know what you're doing with Hamons. What should I do now? I love the action in this hamon but I hate the definition. My inclination is to sand it down and re-etch it. I think I left it in the etch too long. Here is what...
