New One Finished! What do you think?

That's a beauty Daniel- no frills but looks like a great utility trail point with bullet proof materials- good job.

Long time since a post, here goes, O1 custom bushcraft knife

Hi Kuro- I personally would dispense with the compound grind, unless was a deal breaker for the customer. On the handle I would straighten out the dip in the top forward area and lessen the curve at the bottom of the guard and bottom of the butt. Everyone has a different eye for what is right...

    Medium Size Hunter

Looks great- like the jigged bone and the copper- sweet knife.

    First Boar Hunting Knife

Just to throw in on this, if you're gonna stab a pig you want long and narrow blade for penetration and so don't have to have a cup of coffee with the thing before you kill it. I would probably use a steel more prone to high impact toughness (D2, S7, M4) and not for extreme edge holding (CPMS60)...

    Hey all

Welcome to KD TK9 from across the pond. Plenty of folder guys in the folding knives forum who can answer your Q's.

Todays oopsie daisy- learning hollow grinds

Bummer Vance- chock it up to a good learning though. Rosa is right- it's good to know your perfect height using the calculator but can stretch the line if careful. A little undercutting is ok as long as don't get the center too thin. Only other solutions are bigger grinding wheels or narrower...

    SOG Scale Mod

Just finished this order for a set of CF scales on a SOG spec elite. I like the look but it was more of challenge than expected as the countersinks are different size side to side as well as pivot shank and csink. Had to grind custom tooling and mill recess inside for side plate and spring...

Shop Weirdness stories; gremlins, ghouls, and plane strangeness

Seems like stuff breaks down in pairs or 3's- makes ya wonder sometimes about probabilities, wear patterns of metal components, etc etc but the strange thing that happens to me, as it has as long as I have been working on things with small parts e.g. knives and guns, is how far across the shop...

    Greetings from Sweden

Welcome to KD Supermono, good to hear that getting hooked is truely a global phenomenon. I have yet to delv into the slipjoint realm but can relate to any good folding knife taking lots of extra work.

    Buffer PPE

Good input and thanks for the words guys. Ken yes I have noticed many go with the lower speed and power buffers and change process so don't have to buff so much with high speed buffer. This is really the right thing to do in long term because if doing fine grinding correctly, it should be...

    Buffer PPE

Thanks for the input guys. I used to do all my polishing on Norax belts only, but now use cork belts with white and green compound for high grits as it seems faster. On knives where want that bright mirror effect I use green compound and a 12" air buff to finish off. Rob appreciate the idea on...

    Buffer PPE

Ok I finally went and did it. Buffing away on my 3600rpm buffer, was turning the knife around to go at the other side and suddenly the blade was not in my hands and had drawn blood on (3) three limbs- hand gash, point into right thigh and spun down where spine hammered left shin bone. I've...
