Very nice for sure- like how the handle matches the sheath too, well done.

As Raymond says oil the blade and leave it alone. You could take a scotch bright and clean the dirt from around the handle pins so they stood out better, and treat the sheath with some neatsfoot oil or snow seal before putting on display.

400 grit. I will stain and seal with tru oil like any porous handle material too, and give it a light buff.

Like Calvin says it will work fine either way as long as have the 3600W model, which only needs 12AWG 3-wire cord (20A, meeting 80% rule for 16A max load). if have the big 7200W model then would have do something else at outlet location to connect some 6AWG SE cable and run conduit to another...

Bill YW and great start on that restore. Loved the nut story- that's most the battle, getting it apart and back together like it was supposed to be. That should finish out nice with some epoxy or like Frank says CA. I usually stain the leather prior to finish as well just to get the 'aged' look...
