    Diving Knife

I think titanium would hands down out perform any carbon steel as a dive knife material. The only drawback may be material cost- especially if you figure in the cost of a carbidizer. I could build one that may not outperform Ti out of S90V or 440C but could do it for a 1/3 to 1/4 the cost and it...

    D2 Burl Bowie with Sheath

Thanks guys- TA after trial and error, this is process I came up with for a D2 hamon: Apply furnace cement to top/sides of blade only after first placing a cardboard pattern on lower area of sides of blade to be hardened so that cement is applied exactly same height on one side as the other...

    D2 Burl Bowie with Sheath

Just off bench is this D2 bowie that is built for heavy use with a heavier blade and slightly longer handle (4.75") to aid in chopping. Balance point is an inch ahead of guard so has a great forward balance. Point is ground heavier to allow extra durability. Specs: D2 edge-quenched blade with...

What's going on in your shop?

Yep those wax type drill and tap lubes for drill press work are great- SO less messy than trying to squirt oil on. I bought sticks and best money I ever spent. Today I used my Bruce Bump clamp-up jig and it works great -used some oak pallet wood and some all-thread to make it in about 10 minutes.

Stag Hunter that didn't make the cut...

    Already addicted

Welcome to KD Early1. The no-weld is great option - I built one and still use it 5 years later. Many options out there on new grinders but buy or build as many attachments as can afford/have time to make as you'll use all of them.
