Asking for suggestions for welders for hobbyist knife maker. Mostly for canisters, welding sticks to billets, etc. i haven’t welded in a little over fifty years, so simple as well as cheap. Lol! Thanks guys.

Why do you say stay away from 1095 steel right now. I am also new to knife making.

Wondering if someone could tell me to buy knife scales with movie and sports themes in them such as mosaic pins or just team emblem in the scale. Also I have a son that loves horror movies so I am looking to build a knife and put ghost face or Freddie Kruger scales on them. Thanks for any help.

New guy here. I’m using. 1075 and 15N20 for some Damascus and which quench oil do I use and can I use the same stuff to quench straight 10 series, 80crv2, 52100, ect. Also is what should the oil temp be before the quench? Thanks
