    Simple fixed blade.

Cal, Did you forget how to make folders? As usual you always do a nice job! Last week I had gone to the feed store to get a refund on some Herd Builder powdered milk that I did not need. I've been in the need for a good mole trapping shovel so I went over to the shovel department and found the...

Need help with a knife ID

Tracy, Gib use to hang out at the Outpost in the early 2000's which is part of knifenetwork forums now. Seem to recall seeing some of your knife work posted over there years ago in the display case. The one thing that bugs me about this knife the fellow was asking about is the hollow grind. I...

Need help with a knife ID

http://bladegallery.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=342 Gib was a good friend of mine. He passed at least 10 years ago. He and Chuck Burrows did a lot of work together plus Chuck got all of Gib's blades after he passed. Chuck just passed a year or so ago. Both died from cancer.

    First try at forging

If both these tools are high carbon steel you could forge a usable blade out of them. Are a you talking about hand forging? The 1/2" x 5" could turn into 1" x 8" x 1/4". Learning to hand forge takes sometime to learn.

    Lost in Old Age

I've used Fiebings leather dye in the walnut color for several years now. I had better luck with the oil dye which I think they call Pro Dye now. On this piece of antler I just applied it and let it soak in for a few minutes and then wiped it off. I also sealed it. One thing I have found out...

    The Best Gift Ever.........

How easy we forget. I'm guessing I started receiving a morning devotional from "Our Daily Bread" for at least 2 years now. The bad thing about morning devotionals at least for me is shortly after listening to the devotional I forget all about it. Normally I don't go back for a second listening...
