I really like it. I’ve had it for several years now and go back to it very often for design tips and patterns to use. I just always make sure to give credit to the author when I use one. I really like some of the Japanese flair Murray incorporates into his blade design.

Wow awesome. I’m gonna have to pick up a copy. That’s a lot better price. Idk why amazon is so high but that’s ridiculous.

My first sword: Civil War artillery sword

I love it! I was just telling my wife and showing her pics of D guard blades the other day and talking about making one. The largest blade I’ve done was a Japanese Matagi camp knife that Murray Carter had a pattern for in his book. So this would be a really fun challenge for me. Great work sir...

Might see a familiar face on Season 2 of Historys Knife or Death.

Good points fellas. Not to mention that I’ve never even seen a tempering cycle on FIF. Maybe I’ve just missed it but I’ve only seen hardening cycles where they keep it outta the oil long enough to make it catch fire which I guess they think is necessary for a cool shot. That does happen to me...

No problemo man. I wasn’t trying to come off like a jerk just making sure you weren’t actually drilling oversized by that much lol :D

    Inserting tips.

Seventh and a half tenths right? .00075? Seven and a half thousandths (.0075) per side would be super loose.

What power tool is used ...

Electronic discharge machining. I’m not super familiar with it but it uses a wire to burn the cut instead of actually cutting it like with an end mill or something. The wire we use at work is .010” thick. There is also a type of edm machining that uses a electrode made of different materials...

Another one of my knives. I haven’t made any knives for a few months cause I’m still finishing up my shop (almost done) but this is one that I made this spring. 3/16 01 Tool Steel, and if I remember correctly, a Padauk wood handle.

    WIP- sneak peek update pic

Looks great man! I think I’m getting ready to try a hidden tang knife. I’ve done two that we’re deer antler handled but I want to do one in a nice wood so that I can actually sculpt the handle to shape. Those little contours and palm swells that guys grind into them just look so stinking sweet :D
