The steel is 8670. I just bought a bunch of AEBL steel to profile a batch next time. I plan on sending 19 to maximize on the pricing.

Thanks for all the kind words. I had a good instructor. Steel 80CRV2. Linen micarta (I think) with red and white liners with loveless bolts. Blade is 3 1/2” with OAL 7 3/4”. I buffed the scales to a good shine. Can’t wait to make another. I got lots of ideas.

As the title states I’m new to knife making. I have bought a grinder that I haven’t had time to set up yet. I hope to get by a friends shop and shape a few blades soon. Here is my second knife finished. Not the best but better than the first.
