Good for you! I have my first hidden tang profiled out, and guard all fitted up. I back burner the project when I was drilling the tang hole in a block of Kingwood. I screwed up and ended up drilling a hole through the side of the block.

Dennis, Ted, and Rick, thank you and it is wicked sharp. I sliced myself open pretty good violating shop safety 101 leaving the blade exposed when I reached for something I dropped while sanding. I think my dna is on the vast majority of my knives lol.

For me, there is a whole host of complications in making them. Things have to be FLAT! I don't have a surface grinder, so that's a lot of work. Then making sure the tolerances between the blade, washers/bearings, stop pin, and backspacer/standoffs are correct. Getting those right helps in the...
