    I don't know about liquids but have you considered lexan? I believe it is or has been used in aircraft windshields so it's tough and it's fairly easy to work. Carey

    Don't ya just hate it when your nuts fall off? If I were faced with this dilemma, I think I would punch and drill most of the bolt out from the intact side then drive the pin from the other side. That way you will have less resistance to overcome when driving the bolt out. Just a thought. Carey

    It looks good. The lines are nice and the grind looks clean. The only problem I see is the sharp angle at the front of your scales seems that it would be a weak area and might be prone to break easily. You can get away with that kind of angle with metal bolsters but wood is more fragile...
