    It's a shame to see only 15 completed knives, out of the 33 that originally signed up. Hopefully we will get the last ones in in the next couple days.

    Is G10, Micarta? And is "Micarta" G10?

    I've only used an actual Micarta once. It was linen. I hated it. I didn't have the equipment I have now, but it clogged my belts so bad and just overall sucked to work with. G10 however is impossible to cut, but it grinds nicely. I bought some G10 from AlphaKnifeSupply recently, but I haven't...

    Gorilla glue vs Epoxy?!?!?!

    If you can't seem to find it, you want it rough. It gives the epoxy something to grip on to, instead of a flat surface. Scratches even from 80 grit paper help hold much better than 1000 grit glassy smooth finishes.

    I finished the sheath! It's the first sheath that I've made with a belt loop, so I had a few mistakes, mainly with attaching the belt loop to the sheath, but it functions well. It also has a nice "snap" as it slides in.

    Where to get carbide plate in....

    That's what I plan on doing too sometime. So I've been looking at Enco to figure out which size I would want, and when you posted this, I was like "I know! I know!" :D

    Serrated, plain edge or both? - Survey

    What sort of grit would you say you might prefer to leave it to be toothy?

    What's the point of a knife if all you do is look at it!? Sorry guys, my leather skills are lacking, so the sheath is probably below standards.

    Serrated, plain edge or both? - Survey

    I prefer a plain edge, mainly because I can sharpen it very sharp. I don't really know how to sharpen serrations. Also, most of the serrations I've used before are much too coarse for general use. It might be nice to use them while sawing tree branches, but not too useful for most of what I cut...

    Frustration = Discovery!

    Is there any way to clean up hollow grinds with something like this? Or only flat/convex grinds?

    Frustration = Discovery!

    I think I will take your word for it! And could the unit be modified like your disk grinder, with the magnets, to allow quick changing of the paper? Time to tear apart the HF unit!

    Frustration = Discovery!

    That sounds like a great idea! It just so happens that we have a HF one that I may have to modify... My dad barely uses that one anyways ;) (he has a mouse sander for most pieces) Thanks for posting this! Can you post a pic or two of the unit, and the piece you sanded with it? I am worried...

    My NWG Build

    Why not pink!? Then you could hide your lunchbox next to it and nobody would notice!

    What a flashback. You've definitely come a long way!

    Mystery wood, help identify it!

    You can tell if it's cherry by sanding it. Sand a small corner (or waste area) and smell it. If it's cherry, it will have a very distinct, sweet smell. If you have another piece of KNOWN cherry, you can compare the two.
