I made another pair today. These are similar to the style on the ABS video and are made from 1/2" round stock. They hold nicely and don't require drawing out larger stock.

Good idea. A trailer hitch ball might not be as pretty but should work also and could be clamped in a vise or put into a hardy hole or just bolted down if desired.
