I've tried using once so far. That knife didn't work out for reasons unrelated to the bronze. I'll get up to trying it again some day because I really like the color, but it is the hardest metal I've ever filed short of hardened steel.

I agree about the Zknives database, but use their excellent (free!) Android app instead of the web site. There's also an iPhone version that I used to use before switching phones.

IMO, you really want multiple cuts in needle files. At least something coarse for rough work and something smoother for the first step of finishing it. You'll not be very happy trying to clean up all the coarse cuts with just sandpaper.

I like it. The well controlled Brut de Forge grind line, the combination of woods and leather. All works very well together.

I like them, but then I prefer friction folders in wood or stag.

Mixing the dry FC and water is reported to produce significant heat and fumes. That part is best done outdoors.
