How bout a little Solidworks fun?

Just realized I need to add an adjustment bolt -The one that goes through the idler wheel arm and contacts the back of the idler wheel (or tracking wheel).

How bout a little Solidworks fun?

--Finished grinder video added I've had Solidworks on my work PC for a while now, and finally got some time to try to learn it. I've been at it for about a 3 weeks now, and I finally started getting the hang of it. There are still some things I can't do yet, but I'll figure them out eventually...

    Linerless Folder Question?

Mixed reviews on this. Some do, some don't. You would be suprised at the pros or well known makers that don't. Personally, I think it it works fine either way.

    WTB Ti in +/- .125" and +/- .045"

I need some Ti for doing frame locks and pocket clips. If you have any laying around that won't get used let me know. I'll pay a reasonable price for it :)

    neat trick/ disk sander

Instead of trying to make that work, why not use a small sanding disc arbor like this? You need an arbor for your setup instead of that drill. If I were closer I could turn one for you. No big deal really. The arbor above goes to my headlight polishing kit. What you need is one of the...

Finally broke down and did it, got myself a mini mill

That is a nice job, hate you had to get rid of it. I considered painting mine, but I was really anxious to use it.

Finally broke down and did it, got myself a mini mill

Rex, If you ever pick up another one, just let me know and I'll be glad to do it for you. No big deal. I may have to keep it a few weeks, but I don't mind helping a fellow maker out :) Just be sure you invest in a mill other than the harbor freight version. I suggest you check out the LMS...

Finally broke down and did it, got myself a mini mill

Got the column and head assembly done. It has been done for a week or so now, but I've been busy and haven't been able to update the thread. I ended up putting about .003 worth of shims under my column/base flange. This brought the not to within .0005". When I mounted the head, I made sure it...

    working with mammoth tooth

If you haven't seen this already check it out: http://KnifeDogs.com/showthread.php?18746-MDA-Slipjoint-WIP The stuff is crazy brittle. I would say that it does shrink as well. The problem that I have the most is the alternating hard and soft spots. Drilling it is difficult because the drill...

    Swayback Wharncliffe How To

Maybe this will help..I recently had a slippy that I kind overpeened the pivot on. I stuck pennies down into the liners and drove them in in several places gently to spraed the liners. They are soft enough to where they won't mar most liner materials. They also vary in thickness, so if you have...

    Snap shut?

I wouldn't think so, but I'm no pro either. I'd like to hear Todd Davison's take on this. That's the only thing I don't like about that particular area. Very hard not to hit the kick with a sander or overly round off the corner between B and C as you say. This will, as you know, make a...

    Snap shut?

You may have seen this in my tutorial, and I figured it may be a little help here. This is a direct quote from Mr Bill Vining's post on how to make a Texas Toothpick. This is the absolute best way I have ever seen this explained and he has permitted me to include this in this tutorial...
