Yep, got fridge and everything, George! :D We got another about 4" of the stuff, so I tried out the snowblower I recently bought. Worked good, sure did cut down on the time and work.
Y'all dug out after that big blizzard, folks?
Maybe treerats get sniped next weekend. Wife and I hit a...
You could cut it like I do antler and other odd sized or small material, George. I hotglue antler on a piece of 2X4 or some other squared piece of wood and cut or rip it on my tablesaw. Works slick as a greased pig and is safer than trying to cut it on the bandsaw.
That sure is a great read, George! You fellas earned the author's praise, for sure!
I bet you fellas had a great time that day and I bet it was sure informative for the reporter and the readers. Few folks actually know there are custom knife makers in their neighborhoods, except for IG's...
 :( NOT GOOD, IG! We got about 1 1/2", enough for us!
I have to finish those fillet knives today, am going out and crank up the kerosene shop heater pretty soon. I hit the coffee pot at 5:30 this morning, wife had fresh pot already waiting.
Maybe I can bribe her into thawing out...
I got paid last night for a pair of fillet knives with dyed and stabilized tiger maple handles. I sure like the finished wood but that wood sure messes up everything.
I use only stabilized wood now, have for some time. It ain't cheap to have stabilized but it sure takes the worry out of using...
Weather crapped so I just went shppong with wife and picked up shop supplies with some of Christmas gift cards I received from my lovely daughter. At least the stuff I bought didn't cost me anything. :D
Dang squirrels will live for another week, George. :o
:D:D:D We would get arrested for something, I bet!
Seriously, I bet I would learn a lot hanging out with you, IG. It would be a blast. I would also have to keep some bail money squirreled away, I betcha. ;)
Ya think? My guess is that HT relish would disolve the grinder before it cauterized his wound. ;):D
Yep on it being too miserable to be outside pounding on steel, IG! :o You folks got hammered, too.
We had Christmas here yesteday for the kids and grandkids that live close to here. Most of...
Dang, those hurt!
I done some of the above, including one more. I had a sharp blade in the vice, point pointing up. I was in a hurry just before going on duty, popped into the shop to grab something off the shelf above the blade and wasn't watching as I brought my wrist back down onto the...
That nice blade would look really good with some stabilized burl. I would maybe add a mirror finish, but satin finish would look just as good on that blade.
I had a box of tiger maple blocks dyed and stabilized by Mike at WSSI, various colors, including purple. All of it turned out great and with brilliant colors.
From the looks of your work, I don't think you have to worry about your shop making it, murph. 2thumbs
Nice shop and nice start, fella!
Like Aldo said, I would insulate your shop. I would do that before getting everything moved in, if possible.
