If the pivot on the platen was lower than the mid point, would that eliminate the need to trim the base? Would the top order wheel then be higher than the tracking wheel? Thanks

The miter slot on the swag is great end will ensure tht you are cutting square when you need to.

Should those be set screws instead of a hex bolt. I think the idea of a set screw is that one would likely twist the hex key before you would strip the threads on the pulley. Kind of a built in safety factor. I have been known to twist a few hex keys, so I speak from experience.

Would need to be bored out to bearing diameter on both sides and then have bearings pressed in. In current form could be used as a drive wheel if the bore diameter matches that of the drive shaft and if it was keyed. Or could be idler without doing anything.

You could use the appropriate diameter hex head grade 5 bolt.

I would hate if the WIP threads ended because makers felt they were losing out in the end. I am doing a lot of reading in preparing to make a few knives and all the WIP thread and YouTube videos are great ways to learn. It would be a shame.

They call it grommet edging. They have it in PVC and LDPE. GRE and GE series respectively.

Alliance plastics has 2 different types and about 5 thicknesses each.
