Wish I was closer and had a way to move it.

    Micarta or G10...

Either will be tough as nails. G-10 has a tendency to grind VERY easily. It's kind of like trying to shape butter with your grinder. The down side is that the dust is horrible! You really need a ventilation system to keep the dust under control. It will make you itch all over, so dress...

People who blatantly and fraudulently sell knives as hand made when they are blanks..

Just to add my $0.02 now that I'm coming in late to the discussion............ Those who fraudulently misrepresent their skills within our passion are quickly discovered. I have personally run into several examples of these guys in my travels over the past several years. Ironically enough...

Starting to see a lot of "talon holes"...

Out of curiosity, I did a bit of quick research on this. It's not that Busse has a trademark on a thong hole forward of the handle. It is the specific placement of the hole. Busse's trademark is of a thong hole located at the front bottom of the guard and bottom of the pommel area. To the best...

    Thickness of Kydex?

I typically use 0.06 on everything these days regardless of size unless it is a really heavy knife. I find that the thinner stock of Kydex allows for better form thus providing superior lock up to the knife.

    Surface rust removal

I don't think you guys will be disappointed with Corrosion X. To give you an example of how well it works, I'll share the story of my first experience with the product. For the majority of my military career I was a member of an Infantry Anti-Armor Unit. As such, we had all of the heavy...

    Surface rust removal

I'm abig fan of Scotchbrite and Corrosion X. Corrosion X is very similar in consistency to WD-40, but is a true rust inhibitor as opposed to being a Water Displacement formula. It's primarily marketed as a rust inhibitor for marine engines and componenents and is used by many A&P mechanics to...

    Lining Kydex Sheaths

Getting a scratched blade from Kydex is just nature of the beast if you will. I'll go through the process I use when making a sheath. 1. Double to triple layer the masking tape on your blade before pressing your sheath. I only use one layer on the handle for wooden handles and leave the handle...

    AG Russell Knife Event

This was my second year to miss the show and it saddens me to think that this may be the end of this great show. I think the greatest detriment to this show is timing. Many of the makers who attended this show in the beginning also attended BLADE and the Gathering. With three big shows so...

First Folder after a long hiatus

Brad, i really like the fact that tou identified this as a right hand chisel grind. One of the issues I've personally had with chisel grinds (other than the fact that I hate sharpening them) is that so many people do a left hand grind which makes it dang near impossible for a righty to cut...

    From Round Stock to Knife

I guess it would depend on rather or not you are forging it to flat bar and then forging a knife or if you are forging an integral bolstered blade. If you are just wanting it to flat stock, it really doesn't matter which you forge first though I would personally always choose blade first. If you...
