This is a Mosaic Damascus Dag that I just finished for the Blade Show.
OAL is 13 1/4" with a 8" blade. The guard and butt-cap are also Mosaic Damascus. The handle is African Blackwood and the spacers are nickle silver.
Let me know what you think!!
Thanks for looking...
Steve
Those are absolutely SICK Dave. You should be ashamed of yourself!!!!
I am really looking forward to seeing those. I hope they're still around when I get there!!
I have just read 3 pages of this thread. I have both laughed and felt saddened. Isn't this a great place where people can freely share such range of feelings and emotions. I personally am thankful for all of you!
Now what were we talking about???
I used to use a Dremel with a 1/16 carbide burr... I had it wanting to skip around and was always fighting it. The turbo carver turns 400k RPM. It makes life so much easier!!
I would say that a 5hp motor is about minimum required. I started out with a 5hp 3450rpm and then switched to a 5hp 1725rpm. The quality of the motor also makes a huge difference. An elcheapo air compressor will over heat from the constant cycling. Spend the extra $ and get a good TEFC Leeson...
I use a turbo carver with 1/2 mm carbide dental burrs...
And a big magnifying glass so my old eyes can see what the heck I am doing...
It's really fairly simple... Urr.. I mean it's really hard and no one should try doing it!!! :) :)
I just finished this one up. I will have it available at the Blade Show.
I hope to see everyone there!!!
This is one of my "LIGHTSPEED" Titanium Framelock folders with C.F. handle inlay and textured frame. It is 4" closed and 7 1/4" open. It has a 3 1/4" blade of .105" stainless Damascus...
