    Chopper hatchet set

Beautiful work as usual!! Very nice set. The grind on the knife in the picture almost looks hollow ground. I'm assuming it is the hamon that makes it look that way? Keep up the great work!

    How I make pocket clips.

Seems like this would be a great project to have water jet cut. 1" square bar of steel and a simple patter for the clip and you wod be all set!

    My really big day

Great Job Jason! Love that knife! Don't mind you tooting your own horn at all. Just gives me hope that maybe someday I'll be able to recoup a portion of the thousands I've spent in this hobby! LOL! Nicely done and well deserved!

Where to BUY fast Quench like Parks 50?

I have had the Maxim oil DT-48 which is there fastest quench (around 6-9 seconds I believe) for about a year now and have had great luck with it. From what I was told it was formulated to be comparable to Park's #50. Maxim sells both in 5 gallon buckets but I refused to buy from parks since they...

    Do Over

Shouldn't be a problem to anneal it and then heat treat it again after drilling the holes. You could also probably use a carbide drill bit to drill the holes into to hardened tang if you go slow and use some good cutting oil. Just my $.02!

    Model: Doctors Bowie

Stunning knife! Great flow to it!! Quick question: how do you get the handle screws heads to line up the way you do. Every time I do it with flat head screws the final tightening Makes the screw slots end at varying angles. It's no big deal but just always wondered. Thanks!

    New bandsaw blades

I don't remember what TPI they sent me. From what I have read they handle thicknesses that vary better than normal blades. Not sure why. From the. Urging I have done they handle 0.50 titanium up to 3/16" 1084 like a dream.

Greetings from the Highlands of Maine

Keep on learning and refining! The great thing about this craft is that it can never be perfected! Nobody ever "gets to where they are going". But that's the beauty of it. Get you a copy of a book called "the 50 dollar knife shop" and learn how you can get you some basic tools set up very...

    New bandsaw blades

Hey Dogs! I recently stumbled across an offering for a free sample of a new type of bandsaw blade by a company called Morse. It is their 811 blade and they claimed it would cut much faster and last much longer than traditional bandsaw blades. They shipped me one for free to try and I wanted to...

    Those that own a KMG

I have had a KMG for about 8 years now and absolutely love it. I have never had a lick of trouble with it and it tracks like a dream. You can change belts easily with the tool rest in place unless you go to something really thick like a scotchbrite belt. All that is required then is to loosen...

Looking for a thermometer for quench tank

I've got a thermometer with a braided stainless steel cable and stainless probe that I use for grilling. They are about 25 bucks and readily available. I bet you could make something like that work.
