So, Does anyone k ow of a place that could maybe etch/ machine a brass plate to use as a template in a New Hermes Engraveograph?

I have an idea for something that laser engraving may work for. will it work on brass? and how deep does it engrave into the metal? I have a new hermes engraveograph and would love to have a stencil to use on it with my name and logo made

After some preliminary cleaning up I'm really starting to like where things are going. I think I'm going to leave the smaller ones tang rough like it is currently, maybe just wire brush it

Yeah that's the one that reminded me about the idea. The only other example I found was a farberware knife. If I can ill try to forge a small one out tommorow... I may have some steel thick enough to give it a shot while I try to find a good thick round or square bar

Has anyone played around with T15 High speed steel? someone dumped a bunch of end mills at our local dump, including a 1.5in diameter T15 end mill... I want to try forging it and seeing what i can do, but would appreciate any experiences you guys have had. and yes i know it wont be the most fun...

Yeah I see what you mean, ironically mine isnt too much wider than that, butnsince incident radius the edges of the guard it definitly has a wider blockier look

Ok , see your point, i personally prefer handles a little thicker(built this one to fit my hand) but I see how what you were saying could work better for others

Ok I think I know what you mean, I'll take that into account in the future. So you mean to kind of taper the guard narrowing it where it meets the blade?
