American made knife from Minuteman Watch Co.

I agree with jeremiah wholeheartedly! The skull looks like an SS death's head hat badge. Lose that trash! Besides that, The Minute man logo has class and you say you are giving money to our veteran programs. I sell a few protect autos on a retail basis and don't order the ones with the...

    Need Newbie Pointers

John has listed many great pointers for learning to get your grinds consistent . I also recommend that you try a couple of different belts. Some grind best with Blaze, some with 3m Cubritron I've found that VSM are the best belts for my money but you may be different cause we all use different...

    Who's using Kirinite?

I leave my Kirinite handle at 120 grit finish, G-Flex Epoxy and use mechanical Loveless bolts. I've made in the area of 40-50? knives with Kirinite handles and no problems.

    Handle tapering

I think "B" is your best bet. You want to have a thinner relief area where your pinky rides or you will tire out a lot faster and the swell at the end will keep your hand from sliding down.

What's going on in your shop?

John, I have found that I get the best mileage out of belts by using the fresh belts for bevel grinding then at about 50% of the grit gone they get put into the rough and nasty work pile for profiling and just making metal go away when heat doesn't count. I only really do profiling on...

How to Forge a Plutonium Edged Knife

I've had excellent results with link belt on a KMG and on my 6 x 48 sander. Less vibration and they didn't/haven't developed a memory and stop in the same place all the time like a v-belt can.
