    Thumb jimping

Sorry Justin, No pics, but i am starting on a batch of EDC/Hunters so in a week or two? The Carbide 1/8" burrs are pretty cheap if you already have a flex shaft or dremel. I buy 'em on ebay. By the way, I do the Jimping on the spine after HT just so you know.

Picked up a Wuertz SGA for the KMG

Bossdog, A gent that goes by Nathan the Machinist makes chillers and other  stuff. I had one for a KMG I had and they work great. When I had to down size back into my one car garage shop I couldn't keep three 2 x 72"s so I sold the KMG. You may want to contact Nathan directly...

    Thumb jimping

I use a 1/8" carbide burr in my Foredom Flexshaft. I mark them out and then make little starts on each black line mark and keep making them progressively deeper until I'm happy with mi thumb Jimp's then smooth any burrs remaining with a worn 600 grit at slow speed on the 2 x 72".

    Serrated wheel reface?

If its not to bad of a concave on the wheel? I have redressed my 5" and 2" wheels with a file and then cloth backed sandpaper to take the shoulders off. It will take away a little material but it costs next to nothing and has keep my wheels working for years longer. So Ed, You are growing...

how much sq ft for your shop

I've been full time for 19 years doing the stock removal method and I've done fine in a one car garage in a Apt building. Remember that its not what you want! Its what you can make work for you! But like everyone says. No matter how big, you will want more shop space.

    Large diameter grinding wheel build.

Brian, Come to think about it you are right about that. I sold the KMG that I could of made a riser for so Plan B is ether to build a grinder that would accommodate a 20" or buy Hardcore Products that runs a 20" wheel only. Burr King makes one as well. I've got so many things going on now I...

    Just trying to heal up

Keith, Wow, sounds like this one is really tough on you. Has the doctor prescribed Lidoderm patches? Its Lidocaine in a skin patch that I can put right on the part of my spine or muscle that's killing me. They really help take the edge off so I don't have to take pain meds as...

    Contact wheel

Bossdog has been around many more different sized and kinds of contact wheels than I have so my remarks are from using the wheels on my three 2 x 72" machines. I have all rubber now and I only had one poly and won't buy any more. Rubber at 70 Duro came on my Coote and while I haven't ground...

Keeping white G10 from discoloring during handle shaping

What Ed Said is right on the money! I use fresh belts and use them for just a few minutes and then switch that belt out for a fresh one. I then use these belts on other non-white handle materials. Then, its hand sanding time! First, Avoid the black wet & dry. Use the garnet wood sanding...
