Thanks but the blade was forged just to see how my skill has progressed at the forge and to be used as a template for a customers knife that I will be starting on next month. I wanted to heat treat the blade to try it out is all. 1075 was all I had in stock that was thick enough to forge.

I believe this is also true but not mentioned much when austenizing at the higher and lower temps. If one were to austenize at the low end and the soak stayed the same as what one does on the high end there will be less carbon in solution and therefore when queched the blade will not be able to...
