    Here in North Carolina we have Nucor headquarters in Charlotte and a large carbon steel mill in Hertford County near the coast. The mill is on the Chowan River so large amounts of scrap can be brought in by barge.

    ok, annealed will bend and stay bent, hardened will break. either way the blade is damaged.

    interesting that the company sold ford 75% of the axle assemblies they use. the company continues to make changes in design which keeps it ahead of any other makers on knives, most basic designs have been around for a long time.

    i have two blades, same HT, cut from same larger piece of steel. one has distal taper the other doesn't. i can flex the distal taper blade 20* to 30* using my thumb. the other blade will not flex. both blades are at RC62-63 from edge to spine.

    when you get into mechanical design of a folding knife, yes i can see unique components that could be covered by patent. if one had the time, you could reverse engineer it and make a copy.

    just finished shopping, only thing I couldn't find was vienna sausage. I like the fact that we can track and forecast storms better than 40 years ago. sometimes though the first forecasts set off panic buying, i mean what is a two person household going to do with 25 gallons of bottled water...
