I'm not a fan of file work but this one looks good, great job.

I think brass is gross looking, nickle silver on the other hand has some class, and you definitely can't go wrong with stainless. That's just my strong opinion.

Cpm d2 is easy to work with, it grinds easy and takes a wicked edge, and is pretty stain resistant, Cpm 3-v is easy to grind when its soft but hard to finish once its hardened, as for toughness it's supposed to be the cats but I haven't put my just finished batch of 3-v choppers through any...

i agree with the grohman leave something to be desired in the edge holding department, but the shape is neat, your take on it is definitely better. Nice work!

I like the radius plunge grinds you execute them perfect, any tips on how you do them would be appreciated. I'v been trying that grind for years.

I ordered some 3/8" 3-v from Aldo 2 months ago I'm sure he still has some. If your looking for a hard use steel that one is hard to top, although it can be a little expensive.
