The OP is referencing elbow, not wrist condition. Top of wrist pain is often associated with arthritis or ligament instability/tears in the wrist causing dorsal wrist pain Ref TFCC tear.

As a practicing Physician Assistant that treats this condition (lateral epicondylitis) on a regular basis, I will advise skipping TENS, ultrasound and Iontophoresis. The condition is difficult at best to effectively treat. The best outcomes seen in occupational medicine are from direct steroid...

If in doubt, repeat heat treat - There is no con to doing this.

File should skate across it if it hardened.....yours didn't sound like that happened. Maybe you didn't reach critical temp when you put it back in forge??

Karl - that's not real clear logic. While 50-100ppm may not represent immediate danger, it is not good over a 3-6+ hr period of working in the forge. Mine won't alarm until it hits 400ppm, which IS dangerous. However, when the level is hovering around 50-100, I increase ventilation. Oh, yea...
