Overall is 9" and the sharp part is 4", Damascus models have tapered tangs and the 1095 blades are 1/8" with drilled tangs. The one you mentioned is San Mai 416 SS over 1095 core, that one is going to the National Wild Turkey Federation here in great cold Wisconsin. Thanks for the kind words...

    Weather

It got to a balmy sunny 3 degrees today for a high, wind chill in the sub 30's........I really wish it would warm up to the state's average winter temp of 17 degrees. That would be a welcome sight. Peter

    Heat Treat Foil Question

Because of the higher temps and soak time needed for SS heat treatment, the oxidation on the blade is considerable worse, foil is needed to keep the blade from looking like you soaked it in strong acid for a week. Its well worth the price, trust me. Peter

    Martin Kitchen Skate

Strange name for a strange knife, 12C27 steel, 416 bolsters and G-10 handle. I've made a couple of these and they are very useful kitchen knives. Handle design keeps your knuckles off the cutting board and the belly in the blade is great for slicing and dicing. Blade is .100 thick with a full...
