Tanning a beaver tail for sheath. need advise / know how

I tanned one useing Rittell's ez 100. It came out all rite but sure not worth the effort when you can purchase one at about 12.00 with a better tan and color. Mine was worth about 150.00 in elbow grease.

New sheath for a 170 year old cleaver

Looks good Chef. Thats a pretty cool old cleaver. I watched a guy halve a couple bull elk carcasses with one of those, wanted one ever since. He made it look so easy, I'm betting it's not.

Just Showing off my "Rough Country" sheath

It's pretty cool that Bruce lets me build a sheath for one of his blades every now and then. I built lots of using sheaths for folks who need to pack a hunter but Bruce up'ed the anti a long ways above what I was building. I hope I can continue to learn how to add finish to function at the pace...

    A knife & a Dog

These snows we're getting are kicking my behind. All the roads are closed now to pickups so I'm using a snowmobile. Bruce, I'm called a damage tech. I get a 3 or 4 month break from the shop in the winter. The way this winter is shaping up, I'm gonna miss that stove in the shop.

    Ringed Gamblers Bowie

Hey thats great Bruce, pups help cheer me up anytime I'm around them. I drag a little peice of bacon and hide it from my tiny pup's. Teaches them to get that nose on the ground when I tell them to "hunt it up" Tell Copper to eat his veggy's, the snows already 20" deep and it's just started. I...
