VSM. Found a new belt with great price to performance ratio

Hi Laurence, 70. I just got off the phone to them. Might be a struggle to go direct but not too surprised. Is the belt code you're using the XK760 or XK870? I asked about trizact equivalent just to see what was said and the lady suggested that was the XK870.

VSM. Found a new belt with great price to performance ratio

This sounds great! A plus point to me is the country of origin - Germany. Much closer to me in the UK than the USA is! :D I did a quick google for VSM Abrasives and found they have a number of branches across the world but most importantly, there's one in the UK. Even more important than that...

Handle Broaches with simple tools WIP

Hi Josh How did you find the teeth edges all being flat in use? I wonder if you made two sets of each size, one the same as you've done here and on the other angle each tooth, alternating every tooth. Use the pointy one first then finish with the flat broach.

    Vinegaroon Question

I'm not 100% sure but I think the vinegar isn't the essential ingredient here. I believe the reaction to be between teh tannin in the leather and the dissolved steel. If you have a medium that will dissolve the wiore wool, I guess it should work.

    unusal request (designs related)

Definitely don't over complicate things. :D I drew this quickly for you - it is a simple handle idea and may be useful as a starting point. Make a knife with a handle like that then hold it and ask yourself where you would like it wider or slimmer. Keep the bits that are just right. The...

    Sanding little spaces?

Pedro, you can wrap sandpaper round a bit of metal rod and hold it in place with wire then put the rod in your drill press and it makes a mini sanding drum. Just make sure it's wrapped in the right direction to push it tighter not open it back out.

New handle for a Cold Steel Trailmaster

Just finished this one for a chap who wanted the original black handle replacing with something a bit better looking. So, a block of stabilised Horse Chestnut burr, some buffalo, brass and a nice mosaic pin to finish... Plenty of handle space for different holds.

    Matchlock Axe/Pistol

If it gets a case, how about a custom made lock using the off cut as the outer, then a damascus button inner for the release mechanism..... :D
