    That is a gorgeous knife!

    Fighter sheath leather

That's a very elegant sheath. It's amazing how the absence of stitching changes the look.

    Rebuilt my Disc Grinder today

They're good for getting things flat. :D I have mine running now (9"er) but want to get a work rest made so I can make angled joints on handle slabs.

    Short on work-space?

    Pretty clever! :D

    The Dark Maiden

Hi Dwane, Wrought Iron is gorgeous stuff for knifemakers. It's full of slag inclusions which makes it a low quality metal for it's original use, hence why the switch over to steel with the birth of the Bessamer process. A soak in ferric chloride etches the softer material out in just the same...

    The Hideout Bowie

No worries. I know it's a lot of work doing a WIP but didn't want to be the only one to miss it if there was one! :D

How would I get a pic of my work in Blade mag?

Thanks chaps. :) I know photographs are something to work on as well as the knives themselves. Better camera work and lighting is another of my aims this year so it's handy they all work together. (I can't afford to send them off for pics!)

How would I get a pic of my work in Blade mag?

I know, I know - it sounds quite a arrogant question! I couldn't think of a simpler way to phrase it - sorry! So last year, someone bought me a book. I can't remember the exact title, but somethign like 'Best of Blade mag'. I assumed i wouldn't find it too interesting from years back when...

    An interesting predicament

That was one of the reasons I changed my mark. It's something worth thinking about quite seriously.

    Thuya Burl - Finishing Ideas

Personally I don't think you need to worry about treating it. It's solid and oily enough not to need anything.

Janik / Bump Stag Vigilante Collaboration

That looks great Steven. Do you have a bigger picture (or a link if you don't want to lag the forum)? Must be great to work with Bruce. :)

    The Hideout Bowie

Bloomin' heck Bruce! That just takes my breath away. Opening one of your threads is always a pleasure but to scroll down and see that is something else! I must admit, I looked before reading and I wondered why the detail on the butt end was like that. You should be proud of yourself. :D Did...

    The Dark Maiden

Mike Blue damascus blade (oh so sweet!), some Wrought Iron, Bronze, Nickle Silver and Bog Oak. This has been a long time coming. It has multiple attempts at a bolster, lots of indecision about the spacer and a little indecision on the main section of the handle. I hope it was worth the...
