    I have one more question that goes along with changing grinding direction with grits, recently I have been using the blue steel dye between grits to show high spots/ deep scratches while grinding, would this also help during hand sanding? -Cameron

    I would like to try to get a nice satin finish on my next batch of knives but since I do not have a scotchbrite belt how do I achieve this? I just want a nice even finish without doing a mirror finish, I see many hand rubbed finishes that look very good but I'm not sure how this is achieved...

    From what I know A deferentially hardened blade is mainly for the Hamon. There are may be benefits to deferentially hardening but I'm not sure how significant they are, but I'm sure someone else will know more than me on this subjects. -Cameron

    I read on another post here about going to a custom auto-shop and asking what temp the coatings they put on things cures at, if its not too high it should be very durable. I haven't tested this myself just read it that one time. wish I could be of more help. -Cameron

    update: the graft on the left didn't look good and at 0700 this morning they opened her up to remove it all, when they did blood flow was good and it all looked healthy. The doctor can't explain why this happened except for a miracle, I guess all the prayers paid off. she is doing better still...

    I have not done any of this myself but I read a post here a while back mentioning going to a custom car shop ans asking the temp their powder coat is cured at. I can't remember who posted it but they said it held up well. -Cameron
