    I agree with Murph, the only thing I want to keep to myself are the mistakes. I am glad others feel this way to, I would not be where I am today with my knife making if it were not for people like Weldon Whitley and Loyd McConnell who share everything.

    I've had good results with 5160, I could get it at one time in 1/8" thicknesses from tortion bars on old VW vehichles. Already heat treated, just cut out your spring surface grind and drill holes.

    Most everyone uses the electro-etch method now. It is much simpler and easier, and I don't know if you can even get the supplies to do the KMER method. The electro-etch machines are relativley inexpensive and you'll need a template with your mark on it. Knifemaker Ernie Grospitch makes these...
