    Temper 1080 for slipjoint spring.

Oh man, thanks! With my first prototype I did the hand torch/draw to blue technique, that worked fine. However, it was super easy to mess up. I figured since I have the kiln now, there should be a better way. How long do you leave the spring in the oven at that temp? Thanks again for...

    Temper 1080 for slipjoint spring.

I got my kiln, and slipjoints have been on my list to try once I got caught up on other orders. Is there a general time and temp for most steel that needs to be a spring? I've been looking online and can't find much. Thanks ! Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk

What's going on in your shop?

Repurpose/restore? Someone contacted me to fix up their grandfathers broken straight razor. It was snapped in half. They wanted a friction folder. So, this is the almost final product. Hidden magnetic stop pin. I like this thing. He wants it as an heirloom, not as something he will...

What's going on in your shop?

To engine turn or not? It was left up to me as to how to do this entire project. I will engrave two names into the scales when they are finished. I'm trying to decide if I should engine turn these or just polish them.....opinions? Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk

Making/grinding a curved cigar cutter blades

Oh i wasn't trying to discourage you from trying the traditional cutter. I think it would be a challenge worth taking on. But if all else fails, option B is pretty doable. Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk

    my first slipjoint

Heck yeah. I've seen a few with micarta bolsters. I'd still peen it, but also put some super glue on those bolsters. I've found that gorilla glue on folders for handle material and bolsters that are non metal is awesome. Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk

I have an idea for some canister Damascus. I'm looking for someone that has some experience and the time to do this for me. Obviously I will pay for this to be done. Thanks! Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk
