    Basic Basket Weave Pattern

It does save on grinding and restacking, but your pattern looks very straight to me. I look forward to seeing the finished blade and knife.

    Basic Basket Weave Pattern

Excellent photos and info. I am a big fan of basketweave. I like to have material (1075, 15N20, and nickel) slit into 1/2" wide rolls and then make up 49 squares inside a 4 x 4 x 6 can. It takes a little longer to set up, but saves you the first few forgings.

    My Knifedogs Knife

That is one heck of a knife!! Grand does a great job, and his blades are very well done. I am Robert Eggerling's biggest fan, his steel is the best in my opinion. I particularly like that pattern. I am excited to see more of your knives!!2thumbs

    I have a Grinding question

I flip back and forth frequently. I think this allows me to keep my grinds straight and even. I tried doing one side completely and then switching to the other side, but I found I ground much deeper on the first side. When I first started grinding I would crank on the grinder on a high...

    $150

If you are looking for something to hog off material with a belt, it sounds like a great deal!! I have a old POS Reid surface grinder, I traded one of my knives for it. I put flood coolant on it and run a ceramic stone, and it still holds tight tolerances. The trouble can be finding parts...

    BB Help!!

You can never overdo it with WD-40, cardboard, paper, etc... They are all carbon based organic materials. If I ever have any voids, pinholes, etc.... I can almost always trace it back to not banging on the can long enough. I build a can and add the powder, then bang on the side for 10...
