    Suggestions on a Maul

I just got my Barry King 24oz maul. Way different than the little super light poly-mallet I was using. Hopefully that and the granite slab I just snagged on sale will help with the basket weaves, arrow heads and geometric stamping that I have planned. Thanks guys.

Geometry and Steel HELP!!! --- ...---

Shane, I am glad you decided to post about this. Geometry is talked about a lot but I feel the discussions that I have seen, ( I do not exactly go looking for them or have done a search ) lack reasoning and "data" that proves why an improper angle was the reason behind something. There are a...

The way I make my dovetailed bolsters.

Art, can you tell me why knife makers call them "dovetailed". My father is a wood worker and "dovetailed" is something all together different.

    Hamons with NO CLAY?

Kevin, thank you. I believe that the "recipe" idea is not the greatest as well. However, I did not know how to ask the questions any other way. When I try to talk to makers and get more information and specifics about this kind of information, some of them don't really want to look at...

I understand that. I have it set up to email me instantly on some and then notify me through the control panel on others and it is hit and miss on the email and I don't get any notifications through my control panel.

    Hamons with NO CLAY?

Kevin, I sent you a PM this morning trying to explain what I was hoping you would answer. I feel like I don't get a straight answer, because there is just so much information. I understand that you have to make a knife and test out the waters, but I want to understand what is going on before...

Hey Grizzly, out of curiosity. Do you know how to make a maul with the round plastic for the hitting area. I would be interested in how those are made as well.

    Appropriate Cryo Methods

So I have seen a couple different ways to do cryo on say CPM 154CM. I have heard using ETOH and Dry Ice, Acetone and Dry Ice, Liquid Nitrogen, and just Dry Ice blocks. Can you get the correct results by just placing the blade between two blocks of dry ice for a Cryo Treatment? -Brian-

    Totally different

The more I see from you KT and the more I talk to you. The better I want to get at Leather Working. I was kind of thinking of a rig that just had a knife sheath on it, that I might want to try. Your stuff is great.

Very nice! That is pretty clever. I didn't think about that. My father is a wood worker and loves turning something new. I will have to pick his brain about something like this.
