Design Phase of Hometown Hero Build

No Murph, ain't NO life before coffee. Sometimes I break me off a piece of yesterday's cold coffee 'till the good stuff gets ready, and MAN, sometimes that stuff is hard to chew up. Design Phase of Hometown Hero Build

Bill, I'm so confused, I don't know what is going on & I'm too dumb to figure it out. Now do I take my blank steel, profile the knife, grind & drill, heat treat, & finish or is someone else going to profile & heat treat? Now you know me, I would rather have a pattern & do it myself. That way I...

    Decisions, decisions, decisions

I didn't think anybody but me had that problem. I might go through 150-200 sets of [potential, because most have not been ripped up yet] scales.

    What the heck

I don't know what your etching in but I would say that you are etching too long. I use feric acid from Radio Shack--Full strength-I go in for 20sec- out, wash in water, dry, spray with windex dry, polish with Never Dull. If it is not enough pop, I wipe good with alcohol and repeat [one time]...

    Planer

Tom, I sometimes get 1/2" scales off E-Bay. I glue {with 2 drops of super glue}the scales to a 3/4" board end to end and run them through the planer. Just take off small passes and never had any problems. Jerry
