    WOW what a summer here brought my shop to a halt but I have finally been able to get back in the shop and work on this one. Have it etched and will be gluing it up tonight. Did a mock up before etching and had the wife snap some pics so here they are.

    Bruce you just amaze me with your grit my friend I would be terrified shaping that stag after all the engraving and the color case hardening, I know I would ruin it. What an amazing and inspirational piece, thanks for taking the time to put these WIP's together.

    Thanks Mark and Marvin. Well got some time to work on this today. I finished up on getting the scales shaped with files and sandpaper, so here are the action shots. Next we will be cleaning up the bolsters and the blade beyond where the plunge cuts will be to 2000 grit all by hand.

    What do you do for a living

    I am a full-time farrier been so for just over 10 years now. Also own a farm where we raise horses, cattle and hay about 50 acres 10 of our own. I got into knife making when I was laid up from a accident shoeing a horse a couple years ago, so I do it sort of part time.

    Well now it is grinder time, I will take off most of the excess that is left and get it very close and finish the scale shaping with files and sand paper, Looking pretty good now what do you think? Thanks for looking and stay tuned more to come.
