    Carbon Fiber Camp Knife

I know I have already shared this knife so please feel free to take it down, but the reason I wanted to share it again was because I just built a new light box and got some decent photos of it. I thought also maybe guys could use this thread to post tips and tricks for knife photography and...

    9 Inch Chef's Knife

Several months ago a small chef's knife company approached me about making a limited edition line for them, and after much back and forth we finally agreed on a design using 15n20 and 1084 "san mai" with black ash burl. This is a picture of the 9 inch chef knife they sent me as an example of...

    Something Different

As the title suggests this knife was something different for me and my first time working with carbon fiber. The customer approached me about wanting a larger camp knife with out the extra weight and without decreasing performance so I came up with this. The spine is 1/4 in thick (as per...

    Relic Bowie

This one is Aldo's special 1095 clayed to give a hamon. The guard is smelted copper and the handle is a laminate of curly maple, walnut, and leather. The sheath is left hand carry or edge forward carry on the right side, and inlayed with fold formed copper sheet. Specs: Blade length: 8...

    A Simple Leuku

Hariklis, You are absolutely correct however it is too large to be a puukko and the blade shape is closer to that of a leuku so a mini-leuku style knife would probably have been a more accurate name but far less easy on the tongue :)

    A Simple Leuku

I was starting to become very embarrassed when people would ask me if I had a knife I made on me and all I would ever have is a crappy knife I made a few years ago that more resembles a shiv then a proper knife, so when I could stand it no more I made myself a simple leuku. This knife is common...

    Competition Cutter

So I had a visitor to my shop yesterday who let me try out their nice camera and I was able to get a couple of neat photos of the chopper and a couple of other knives. Hope you guys enjoy. Now there is no going back for me on getting a nice camera... :)

    Competition Cutter

Also I was able to put together a brief video yesterday testing some of the cutting performance. Over all I'd say it did reasonable well and would have done better to have a more skilled user and better cutting set up. But I was able to test it on magazine paper, hickory boards, and hackberry...

    Competition Cutter

Thanks guys :) Kevin I'm really not very good at grinding so I use other "tricks" to help me out so for example on this knife I created a very slight bevel on the spine that extend for 1/2 inch and created a stopping point for the flat grind which also made it relatively even.

    Competition Cutter

Here is a project I've been working on for the past few days I wanted to try my hand at making a cutting competition style knife and this was the result. I used 1084 and clay coated it for the hamon and the handle is a laminate of water buffalo horn, bocote, black ash burl, and dyed curly maple...

    Ragnar's Revenge

I'm sure there are several fans of the show Vikings on here (myself included) which was where I drew some inspiration for this seax. I still have to complete the sheath and will post final photos at that point, but I liked it so much I couldn't resist sharing it on here. After doing a ton a...

    My take on a puukko

One of the ideas I've played with over the past couple of years is the American style puukko knife, the goal being to preserve the essence of the puukko but to also modernize it. This is my latest attempt at doing that and normally the only thing I'm deviating from are the standard grinds. But...

    Relic Fighter

I recently finished this large fighting knife hand forged from Aldo's 1095, clay coat and quenched to achieve a hamon. The guard is antiqued copper with my own take on a clam shell guard. The handle is laminated with curly maple, walnut, and leather spacers. The sheath is made 9 oz leather...
