Present for my father's 70th birthday

My father became 70 years old this year, the first of october. Still in good health, luckily! I wanted to give him a special gift, as a "thank you" for all he, and my mother, did for me and my brother over the years. Last spring, during a visit to dutch knifemaker Gudy Van Poppel, while we...

    The Strauss Pirate 36 caliber

In Belgium, we can own muzzle loaders... but only original muzzle loaders. Newly made guns are licensed. Which doesn't make any sense at all, but that's the way it is. So original muzzleloader --> free, replica or newly made --> license, paperwork, background checks etc... Kind regards, Jos

Love this thread. To bad I'm not allowed to own something like that where I live... Thanks for taking the time to post these pics. Kind regards, Jos

    G-10 and Desert Ironwood linerlock

Not bad. When I read the title I thought it would be an ironwood handle with G10 bolsters, but it's the other way around. Not a big fan of G10, but this looks nice. Kind regards, Jos

    Todd Davison #772

Long time ago (2009), in a land far away (Australia), I asked Todd if he wanted to make a folder for me... What I asked was: something like your folder #497, but with desert ironwood handles. Fast forward to now (2011), in another land far away (Latvia) I got the message from my...

    Larry Fuegen folder

Jon, that push-dagger in your avatar is also made by Larry isn't it? For me, that folder was like a dream come true. Larry Fuegen is a legendary knifemaker. I don't really fancy his "all-out" pieces (even though I admire the crafsmanship and artistry), but his more understated knives like this...

    New sword, new photographer

Beautiful sword! Yeah. I've lost a watch/knife set that way. The maker is making me a new one now, but it's a bloody shame that the first one dissapeared in the post! Kind regards, Jos

    Double bladed folder by MaKnives

Made by Martin Annegarn, dutch knifemaker. Mammoth & damascus. Damascus was forged by Gudy Van Poppel, another dutch knifemaker. It's a beauty, perfect fit & finish, beautiful materials. And best of all: it's all mine! @@@@. Now I forgot to make pics of the presentation...
